NEWSPEAK:
"Freedom of choice"
ORIGINAL
MEANING: The idea that a person can choose among different
options
NEW
MEANING: The idea that it is legal to kill a baby inside her mother's
womb
The
abortion debate has created many newspeak terms. This is
probably the most known.
Choice
to do what? All of us enjoy freedom, but the meaning of freedom
must be understood.
Freedom
cannot exist absolutely (unless you are the last man on Earth)
without being limited in some circumstances by the freedom of
others.
In
this case, since two human beings are directly involved, the
mother and the baby, "freedom of choice" absolutely
ignores the inalienable right to life of the baby, and
privileges the so called "right to privacy" of the
mother. In addition, the somewhat less important rights of the
father are also ignored.
By
making "freedom of choice" a woman's issue, another
inconsistency is revealed: in more than 50% of the cases the
baby being killed is a woman. Women's rights, you say?
Canada
remains the only nation on Earth where this "freedom of
choice" can be exercised at any time during pregnancy,
until the day of birth and even AFTER birth (in some
cases, when aborted babies are born alive and left to starve).
