The
principles of the FCP recognize the fundamental rights and
dignity of all human beings and derive from natural law and
Christian tradition, with
the added experience of principles of constitutional
democracies.
The
preamble to the FCP principles uses the same wording as the
preamble of the Canadian "Charter of Rights and
Freedoms":
The Family Coalition Party adheres to principles that recognize the
supremacy of God and the rule of Law
By
recognizing that rights are granted to us by a higher authority, the
Charter, and the FCP, maintain their
perspective: We do not have the absolute power to affect other
people, or the environment or determine the course of history.
We can do our best to improve the human condition, but we need
to operate within the limits of morality and natural law.
Only
fon this moral base we can derive policies for Ontario and for
Canada that are truly effective, responsible and compassionate.
The
principles of the FCP recognize the family as the fundamental
cell of society and recognize the inalienable, innate,
fundamental human rights of life, freedom and ownership of
property.
