The
family is the natural building block
for
human survival and the natural organization through which
humanity has been thriving generation after generation.
Human civilization is built from the
bottom up, not the top down. The first brick of the foundation is individual
human life, and the second brick is the family. For this reason, the
family remains the essential part in the development of
humanity and an integral part in the development of
society and civilization.
The
family is a fundamental autonomous "cell" of
society.
-
The
cell analogy indicates the basic structure and functionality
needed for life: the family has a nucleus (the parents and
children) its cytoplasm (the extended family) and its
"wall" (the family can run its affairs within the
walls of the home without interference from government,
within the limits of criminal law).
-
The
cell analogy also indicates autonomy and management of
internal resources: the family has its own "life"
and can take decisions for its survival independently from
the community or the state. It can also transfer its
resources where there is a need with the ultimate objective
of ensuring its own survival.
In
essence, the family is where children are conceived, raised, educated and trained
to be the future members of society.
